After the storm: your claim checklist
Wind, hail or a tree on the roof? Work through these steps in order. Doing them well makes your claim faster and protects you from paying for damage the policy should cover.

Good to know
Flood claims have deadlines. With a National Flood Insurance Program policy, you generally have 60 days after the loss to send a signed proof of loss.
Your hurricane deductible may apply. If the damage came from a named storm, your deductible may be a percentage of your dwelling coverage. See what yours is in dollars.
